Tantus RaptorXL Dildo Review

When I received a box from Tantus recently, I was expecting some small dildos for beginners, but instead, I got a true monstrosity aptly named the RaptorXL. Tantus also makes a smaller version, but both are much larger than I typically use.

The RaptorXL is a dildo intended for orifice insertion. With its prominent ball sac, this toy is safe for anal play. Whether for men or women, if you like that “full feeling” and want your holes properly filled, Tantus dildos are an excellent choice.

It is harness-compatible because it has a wide base that will secure easily in an O-ring. The balls are positioned far enough away from the base that they won’t hinder harness use. They do, however, reduce the massive 9″ total length to a more manageable 5.75″ insertable length. The toy is exceptionally heavy, so you’ll need to support it as you thrust. Size queens and those looking to stretch will love this toy, not only for its size but also because the head is well-tapered for comfortable insertion.

It doesn’t have a suction cup, but the base is sturdy enough for you to crouch over and mount it. It also does not have a vibrator, and its dense silicone will dampen most vibrations, but a strong vibrator, like a wand pressed to the shaft or base, should provide enough vibration to be felt, especially during anal play.

Design and Materials

As is standard for the company, all Tantus dildos and vibes are made of high-quality medical-grade silicone. This material is so durable that it can touch other Tantus silicone toys without deteriorating. The Raptor and RaptorXL come in orange, black, and purple. Mine is purple. The shaft has a shimmery purple hue, while the head is shiny, giving it a metallic look. I’d say this is one of their more “realistic” designs, though it’s still not a replica of any specific human anatomy I’ve ever seen.

The toy is quite firm and heavy, with a prominent head and rock-hard balls. The veins along the shaft provide some texture, and the distinct head means you will definitely notice where the head transitions to the shaft.

Medical-grade silicone is phthalate-free and latex-free—totally body-safe since it is also hypoallergenic and non-porous. The best part? As long as you clean it properly between orifices and users, it is safe to share! If you want to use a condom for extra protection, you’ll need a large one, or it won’t cover much of the toy. Silicone attracts lint, dirt, and hair like a magnet, so a good rinse is necessary before any play.

You’ll want to use a good amount of lube with the RaptorXL. I highly suggest sticking with a water-based lube like Intimate Organics Defense or Sliquid Sassy Booty. Coconut oil is also a safe option for those who are sensitive to commercial lubes. Try to avoid using silicone-based lube because silicone bonds to silicone and is likely to cause deterioration of the toy. If you absolutely must, be sure to do a patch test first and watch for any tackiness that might result.

Size and Fit

The RaptorXL was simply too big for me, with the following dimensions:

CategoryDimensions
Length9″
Insertable Length5.75″
Diameter2″
Circumference6.5″
Weight~20 oz (exceptionally heavy)

However, it was not too big for a few pegging sessions!

Care and Cleaning

My Raptor came without packaging because it was a review sample. Tantus dildos typically come in clear plastic boxes that are good for getting the toy to you but not much else. Tantus silicone products can be stored together, but it is important to store them separately from all other silicone toys that are not Tantus brand.

To sterilize your toy, you can boil it for 5 minutes or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. After each use, it should be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or a 10% bleach solution. For an even more effective cleaner, you can make your own with a few drops of tea tree oil and eucalyptus, which makes it not only antibacterial but also antiviral and antifungal.

Verdict

Tantus supplied the RaptorXL to me in exchange for an unbiased review. I want to say a big thank you to Tantus once again; they really are one of the best dildo makers in existence. The RaptorXL is a toy for those who are serious about size and who want a high-quality, durable, and body-safe product that can handle anything they throw at it. It’s a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality and is sure to satisfy those with a taste for the extreme.
