CalEx Entice Katharine Review

This review is for the Entice Katharine, a luxury rabbit vibrator from California Exotic Novelties. I’m usually not a fan of rabbits because I find most on the market too large and difficult to fit to specific anatomies, but this one is an exception.

Rabbit vibrators are designed for dual stimulation, with a vibrating shaft and a smaller clitoral arm near the base. They’re made to hit your G-spot and your clitoris at the same time. Of course, no two women have the same size or shape clitoris, and vaginas vary in length, width, and shape. For me personally, I prefer smaller girths and milder curves in my sex toys, as I have an inverted, tilted uterus. I need a powerful motor for my clitoris, but internal vibrations can be milder. While not much of a couples’ toy, I’m sure you could also try it as a prostate/perineum stimulator.

The Entice Katharine is marketed as a “warming toy” that reportedly reaches up to 104°F. While it’s rechargeable, waterproof, and body-safe, it doesn’t come with a warranty. This makes it debatable whether it truly falls into the “luxury” category, but its price tag is definitely more approachable than other high-end models.

Material and Design

While typical large rabbit vibrators are often made of jelly or TPR, the Katharine is made of silicone. The color options—bubblegum pink, raspberry, or dark purple—are common for many toys, but the color doesn’t bother me. Silicone is a 100% body-safe material. It is phthalate and latex-free, hypoallergenic, and totally impermeable. Since it’s non-porous, it won’t absorb bacteria, STIs, or fungus, making it safe to share when cleaned properly.

This particular silicone is smooth and has almost no drag. If you need more lubrication than your own saliva, stick to a water-based or oil-based lube. Just remember that silicone binds to silicone and can damage the toy’s surface, making it tacky. So, if you insist on using a silicone lube, be sure to do a patch test first.

The Katharine has a single seam that runs from front to back, but the mild ridges are more for aesthetics than for providing extra sensation. The toy is flavorless, and if you notice a slight chemical smell when you receive it, a good wash with antibacterial soap and warm water will take care of it.

Size and Shape

The Entice Katharine is quite small for a rabbit vibrator, which I think is a huge plus.

  • Length: 8″
  • Insertable Length: 4″
  • Clit Arm: 2″
  • Width: 1.25″
  • Circumference: 3.87″
  • Clit Arm Width: .87″
  • Weight: 4.4oz

The shaft has a gentle curve and a slightly bulbous tip, but the best detail is that it’s very flexible. Some people may not like this as it won’t provide a lot of pressure against their G-spot, but I love that I don’t have to worry about it hurting my pubic bone or poking any organs while thrusting.

The clitoral arm has a rabbit head with a prominent nose and two long ears. The ears create a fluttery, itchy vibration that I personally can’t stand, but if they bother you, you could always cut them off. The arm is so flexible that you won’t get much pressure from the nose against your clitoris if you need it. This toy is best suited for those who prefer lighter vibrations.

Functionality and Performance

The controls are a simple two-button interface located on the handle. One button cycles through the speeds and patterns, and holding it down for three seconds turns it off and resets the cycle. The patterns for both motors include:

  1. Low straight vibration
  2. Medium straight vibration
  3. High straight vibration
  4. Medium pulse
  5. Rapid pulse
  6. Slow pulse A
  7. Varied pulse pattern
  8. Slow pulse B

At max power, each motor is about a 7/10 in strength but thankfully is very quiet (about a 2/10 in volume). The vibrations are buzzy but not irritatingly so, with a slight rumble. Fortunately, the handle stays fairly buzz-free, which is great for hands that tend to itch or go numb.

Charging and Power

I love that CalEx is moving into rechargeable toys outside of their Jopen line. The Entice toys come with a magnetic charger with a USB plug. The magnets are nice and strong, and the USB plug is convenient for use in any country with the right adapter. Unfortunately, the adapter is not included, but they are relatively inexpensive. The charger has the CalEx logo printed on it, so be aware if discretion is an issue. A full charge takes about 3 hours and provides a few hours of use, depending on the setting you prefer.

Overall Experience

It took me longer than usual to try this toy, probably because of a mild aversion to rabbits. But because of its tiny size, it slipped in easily, and the buttons were simple to access without getting in the way. They aren’t sensitive enough to change patterns on their own, which is a big plus.

The flexibility I enjoyed in the shaft, which made internal stimulation and thrusting pleasurable, meant there wasn’t enough pressure against my clitoris. I even tried lifting the bunny nose to rest directly on my clitoris, but the arm was too flexible to stay in place. I have an average-sized clitoris, but it kept moving out of the way. I think this rabbit would be better suited for someone with a virtually non-existent hood, where the nose could easily slide around the tip.

My biggest complaint is that outside of their Jopen luxury line, CalEx doesn’t warranty their toys. I guess that explains why it’s so cheap, though. I’ve seen the Katharine sold for anywhere from $50–$120, but without a warranty, I would definitely stay below $100.

I came to the conclusion that, for me, the Katharine is more of a warm-up toy. It’s a great option to start with and get warmed up, and I think it would be a perfect toy to wear discreetly under a skirt while driving.

Final Verdict

The Entice Katharine was provided to me in exchange for my unbiased review. I want to thank CalEx for their support. As one of the biggest sex toy companies on the market, I think it’s awesome that they are finally leaning toward more body-safe, sex-positive products and marketing. This is a solid, well-priced toy for those who prefer light, fluttery clitoral stimulation and a flexible internal experience.
