If you’ve never heard of them, Bad Dragon is a sex toy company with a unique focus on fantasy-themed products. While they are best known for their dragon phalluses, they also offer toys based on werewolves, prehistoric sharks, and even men’s toys like the Anthro-mare masturbator. While some of their creations, like “Cole the Dane,” might seem a little too bestial for some, the company does not mold its products from actual animals. Instead, they have an entire design team and a section of their site called Bad Dragon Labs where you can completely design your own fantasy toy.
I have always walked a fine line between what is considered appropriate and inappropriate, and I’ve come to learn that everyone has a different idea of what that means. I have an octopus tattoo on my back—in my mind, the octopus is devouring my mind, and I can relate, as my schizo-affective disorder and clair-sentience can feel like an octopus devouring my brain. Because of this, I have an affinity for tentacles of all sorts, from art to clothing. So, when I discovered that Bad Dragon creates tentacle dildos, I was thrilled. I own one and absolutely love the material—I had never felt a sex toy so flexible. It was like a boneless finger, perfect for reaching the right spots without any bruising or poking.
Because I love my tentacle so much, I jumped at the chance to review a toy for Bad Dragon. I figured that since they had a tentacle, they probably had other toys not based on phalluses—fantasy or not—and I was right! They also carry the Tail Stretcher, Dragon’s Tongue, and the toy I chose to review: Winston’s Tail.
The website is beautifully designed with fantastic artwork, a vibrant community, and a section for “adopting” pre-made toys and those with minor imperfections. I chose to customize my own version of Winston’s Tail. Bad Dragon toys are custom-made, which explains the substantial price tag, ranging from $55–$255 depending on the type, size, density, color, and accessories.
The Material
One of the reasons I love Bad Dragon is that you get to pick the density and color of your silicone. Yes, I said silicone—phthalate-free, latex-free, hypoallergenic, and non-porous! This is seriously the best silicone I have ever felt.
It comes in an unlimited number of colors. They give you a computer tool to choose your exact shade, or you can pick any two colors and have them striped, marbled, or my absolute favorite—gradient! I received a gorgeous gradient moving from a deep earthy brown through red and orange, ending in yellow. It even has a metallic sheen. While not my favorite colors, the final product is truly beautiful.
You also get to choose the density: Soft, Medium, or Firm. I previously loved what they call the “female” softness of a 3, so this time, for variety, I went with a Medium 5. I’m not sure if you can choose a specific number beyond these options, but the Medium is still way softer than most dildos. Since I’m not a size queen and can’t stand toys that poke and prod, I absolutely love it. The texture of Winston’s Tail, with its ridges and subtle bumps, is exquisite. The entire toy is extremely flexible but firm enough to hold its shape when thrusting. It’s truly like nothing else in my collection of over 300 toys. If you’re unsure of which texture you want, Bad Dragon sells silicone sample discs stamped with their logo for about $5, and they even include one with your order.
Size, Shape, and Design
No, this tail does not vibrate, but who cares? I use a wand on my clitoris most of the time anyway, and I find that a second vibration can be confusing for my genitalia. This is a dildo designed for penetration of the vagina and/or anus, though I would suggest a firmer density for most anal play.
Bad Dragon toys are made of solid silicone and do not have an inner core. The only exception is an optional cum tube hole for lube in the phallic toys. My Winston’s Tail, like my other Bad Dragon toys, stands up on its flat base. I believe you also have the option of adding a suction cup to the base.
Some of the other Bad Dragon toys are absolutely huge—I mean, GARGANTUAN. However, every toy comes in several sizes, and unlike many other sites that just list dimensions, Bad Dragon shows you pictures of each option in comparison to a soda can. They are massive, and I thought I would never go with anything larger than a small, but after trying the tentacle and Xenagon, I realized a medium might be more my style. Since these particular shapes have tapered tips, I found I just enjoy the tip inserted anyway.

The shape of Winston’s Tail is a slight double curve, like an S, with a flat base that allows it to sit up easily even without the optional suction cup. This toy truly feels exquisite. It’s like it molds to my insides, and the tapered point slips nicely past the wall that my inverted, tilted uterus usually has in the way of any decent penetration. I love to thrust very shallowly with it while working my clitoris with my Couture Inspire Wand. But I also find myself surprisingly enjoying pushing it all the way in so its thick base completely covers my vulva. You can always press a wand to the base of the toy if you want internal vibrations. One perfect toy will beat ten mediocre ones any day!
Care and Cleaning
Cleaning a Bad Dragon toy is simple. Always use a water-based lube; Bad Dragon has their own CumLube that looks just like the real thing. Silicone tends to bond to other silicone, so avoid silicone lube and do not store it with other silicone toys. Most Bad Dragon toys stand upright, so I store mine displayed on a shelf with my other unique toys. You can also use a box, a Ziploc bag, or even a sock, but lint and hair will tend to stick to it, so rinse thoroughly before and after use.
Clean with antibacterial soap and water or a 10% bleach solution. For total sterilization, you can boil it for 5 minutes or even throw it in the dishwasher. As long as you clean it properly between orifices and/or users, your Bad Dragon toy is safe to share. (Note: using a condom will only work with the Small and Medium sizes, as the Large and Extra Large are far too big!) Follow these simple steps in caring for the silicone, and your Bad Dragon toy will last forever.
My order was shipped in a plain, discreet brown box. Inside, nestled in tissue paper, was my Winston’s Tail. Accompanying him were two tiny, mini versions of a werewolf and a mustang.
